It’s the age old classic – the subject of going out for dinner comes up and the old man refuses to take his family to the steakhouse because he can do it better in his own backyard.

Hah, we’ve all been there!

But, if you mention this to the owner of “not your average Steakhouse” Patina (as we did), he will tell you to stop talking rubbish and try one of his steaks (as he did)!

So, we’re going to put him to the test – more specifically, you are going to put him to the test by cooking up some mouth watering steaks this weekend (Friday 18 December to Monday 21 December). Obviously, our Patina owner can’t taste them so he has asked that aside from your steaks being cooked perfectly, you also need to present them as if they were going out in his restaurant and we love this idea. Let’s face it, we’re all Michelin Star Braai Chefs aren’t we!?

So here we go Tong-Masters, this weekend you can choose any cut of steak but you’ve got to ensure first class presentation – the best dish will be chosen by Patina. In return, you can win a voucher to the value of R600, but more importantly, you can see if their steaks really are better than yours!

Unfortunately, we can only fulfil this prize for those of you that live in Cape Town unless of course you’re in town for the holidays. If you’re not, don’t worry though as perhaps you know someone in Cape Town that you could gift this prize to as a Christmas or Birthday present. Would be an absolute pleasure receiving this in the stocking!
